TDC Ghana Limited Explores New Housing Development Prospects in Ho

TDC Ghana Limited is taking a bold step toward expanding its footprint beyond Tema as the company explores new housing development opportunities in the Volta Regional capital, Ho.

The Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, Courage K. M. Nunekpeku, led a delegation to the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, as part of a working visit to assess available lands and discuss future housing projects.

The visit focused on inspecting parcels of land under the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources, portions of which have been earmarked for possible allocation to TDC for housing development.

Mr. Nunekpeku noted that since TDC’s establishment in 1952, its operations had been limited to the Tema Acquisition Area until its mandate was broadened in 2017 to extend across Ghana. He explained that Ho has been identified as the first major expansion site due to its strategic location and strong development potential.

The designated land lies close to key infrastructure such as the Ho Airport, the regional hospital, and several educational institutions, positioning Ho as an attractive hub for modern residential development.

Regional Minister James Gunu welcomed TDC’s initiative, describing it as timely and crucial for addressing the Volta Region’s significant housing deficit. He commended the company for extending its operations outside Tema, emphasizing the project’s potential to reduce accommodation pressures, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth in the region.

The minister also praised Nunekpeku’s leadership vision and assured TDC of his full support to ensure the successful execution of the Ho housing project.

With this strategic move, TDC Ghana Limited reinforces its mission to drive inclusive and sustainable housing development across the country, bringing the promise of affordable, quality homes closer to every Ghanaian.
